Phoenix Police Officer Comes to Abandoned Dogs' Rescue

A couple weeks ago my pup and I arrived bright at early at Steele Indian School Park for a walk before the heat set in. The dog parks are closed for turf maintenance here every summer but the park itself is full of four-leggeds getting their exercise in each morning. I noticed park maintenance and a early morning park regular who rollerblades near the big dog park when I arrived. Immediately my heart sank. Two beautiful dogs stood on the other side of the tall chain-link fence, abandoned by their owners. They looked to be siblings. Akita mixes perhaps. A sickness came over me. Not only had someone left them here, but they were dropped over a VERY tall fence. One had a slight limp. Neither had water or food. The woman got water and food for them from the nearest gas station and park maintenance said they had to wait for the county shelter to open before they could do anything. It was getting hot.

I called one of my Fur-Ever Friends rescues and another passer-by did the same. The woman with the skates decided to stay and wait until someone came to save them. My biggest fear - them being separated and never seeing each other again.

Days went by and with no updates I expected the worst. Until one morning a friend sent me THIS.

When Phoenix PD arrived on scene a miracle happened....WATCH to find out!!!!

To Sargent Coyle...You are a TRUE HERO.
