Barguments: Sake Haus in Phoenix

On Barguments this week Beth chatted with Dan Carr the Director of Operations for Sake Haus in Phoenix. Sake Haus is a new sushi, sake, and cocktail bar located on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix. It celebrated its grand opening on April 7th, and has another location opening in downtown Tempe in the Fall.

The restaurant has a chef-driven, thoughtfully curated menu with fresh nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls, along with an extensive sake list and fun cocktails that incorporate Japanese ingredients. It feels like an Izakaya that you would find in the Shinjuku Golden Gai district in Tokyo, with a punk-rock edge.

No let's get to what Beth really cares about.... the cocktails. A few of the most popular and innovative cocktails include the Lychee Margarita made with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Domaine de Canton, Lychee, and Lime. The Shishito Sour with Suntory Toki Whisky, Simple Syrup, Lemon, Shishito, Egg White, and Sesame Seed. And Sake Haus’ take on an Espresso Martini made with Sayuri Nigori Sake, Amaretto, and Kahlua.

Sake Haus is located at 214 E. Roosevelt St. It’s cashless and walk-in only with a call ahead waitlist.
