Disney World is ditching Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year in favor of a new limited-capacity nighttime holiday event, Disney Very Merriest After Hours. Well, now they’ve revealed some of the details, as well as the prices, and it’s gonna take a nice chunk out of some folks’ wallets.

As for what fans can expect:

  • Similar to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which didn’t happen last year due to COVID, guests will have after-hours access to the Magic Kingdom, although they will have fewer hours to enjoy.
  • The new bash will be open to ticket holders from 9 pm to 1 pm, although they can enter as early as 7 pm, which amounts to six hours of fun.
  • Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas used to give guests eight hours, since it was open from seven to midnight, but they were allowed to enter the park as early as 4 pm.
  • Due to the pandemic and social distancing, there won’t be an up-close character meet-and-greets this year.
  • Instead of unlimited cookies, hot cider and hot cocoa of previous years, the new bash will feature such snacks as ice cream, popcorn, bottled drinks and unspecified holiday treats.
  • There will still be snow falling on Main Street, holiday-themed parades, and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime fireworks, as well as the shorter lines for rides that come with the limited capacity.

As for how much it’s going to cost folks, that depends on when they go.

  • Disney Very Merriest After Hours runs on select days from November 8ththrough December 21stand November prices range from $169 to $229, depending on the night, while December tickets start at $249. This is much more costly than in previous years. For example, back in 2019, the last year they had the holiday festivities, tickets started at $94. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday.
