Here’s How Folks Will Be Celebrating Easter This Year

Easter is just around the corner, and there’s no doubt this year’s Easter plans will once again look a bit different than in years past. But that doesn’t mean folks aren’t going to celebrate, and a new survey reveals how those celebrations may look.

The poll by Numerator finds:

  • 22% of people say their Easter plans won’t be affected by the pandemic.
  • But 60% do plan to either stay at home or limit contact with others to be safe.
  • While 71% usually gather with friends or family, only 42% plan to do so this year.
  • Only 23% plan to hold an Easter egg hunt, which is down 22% from previous years.
  • The only form of celebration seeing a rise in popularity is ordering takeout/delivery, with 4% planning to do so, as compared to 2% in the past.
  • When it comes to gifts, 26% of people plan to buy them, a decrease of 10% from years past.
  • Not surprising, the most popular Easter gift is candy, with 90% of people planning to buy Easter candy this year, a decrease of only 3%.
  • 64% plan to buy toys as Easter gifts, down from 75% in previous years.
  • And 51% of gift givers are going to buy food for the holiday, which is pretty much the same as in the past.
