Most Parents Are Growing Concerned About Their Kids’ Mental Health

The past year has been hard on all of us, but it’s been particularly tough on children, which is why a lot of parents are growing concerned about their kids’ mental health. 

A new survey finds:

  • 93% of parents say that as the pandemic continues they are becoming more and more concerned about their child’s mental health.
  • 71% say they are more concerned than they’ve ever been before.
  • Some of parents' biggest concerns include:
    • Struggling to turn in assignments on time (42%)
    • No longer showing interest in classes they used to enjoy (40%)
    • Lack of social interaction with peers (35%)
    • Lack of social interaction with friends (32%)
    • Loneliness (28%)
    • No longer showing interest in hobbies (27%)
    • Decrease in mental stimulation due to remote learning (27%)
    • Increased anxiety (16%)
    • Burnout / exhaustion (14%)
    • Falling behind in school (10%)
  • Of those worried about their kids' mental health, 66% would like to talk to them about it, but don’t know how.
  • And it’s gotten so bad, 56% of parents actually think their kids are showing signs of depression.
