Google says it will not find a new way to "track" users as it plans to phase out browser cookies for targeted advertising.
Cookies are small pieces of code that can be used to track users across multiple websites, which is used in turn to target ads related to the user's previous search history.
Google says it will only use "privacy-preserving technologies" that will make user data anonymous. Last year, the company said its intention was to phase out cookies within two years, which puts the timeline around early 2022.
