Mom Credits TikTok Hack For Finding Missing Son In Store

Ever lose your child while you were out together? It’s happened to lots of parents and even when they’re only missing for a few minutes, the experience is terrifying. A mom in Australia recently lost her two-year-old son while shopping at a Kmart and she credits a TikTok hack with helping her find him quickly.

As the mom started to panic and search for her toddler in clothing racks while calling out his name, she remembered the advice she saw on TikTok. It was shared by user Jess Martini, who explains in hervideo, “Do not start silently looking for them … start shouting their description while you look.” And that’s just what this mother did, instead of calling her son’s name, she yelled, “I’m missing a little boy, he’s wearing a yellow shirt and has brown hair. He’s two years old and his name isNathan.”

She says the change in shoppers around her was “instantaneous” and that they stopped what they were doing to start looking for Nathan. Soon enough, a man found the missing tot and he was reunited with his grateful mom. She describes the ordeal as “the scariest 10 minutes of my life,” and encourages all parents to repeatedly shout out their child’s description if they’re ever in this situation.
