Brad Pitt Might Win an Emmy for His Portrayal of Dr. Fauci

As the Emmy nominations were announced yesterday, Brad Pitt was named as a nominee for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series for his portrayal of Dr. Fauci on Saturday Night Live.

Pitt played Dr. Anthony Fauci during an April episode of SNL, which was one of the last three episodes which was produced remotely due to the coronavirus.

Even Dr. Fauci applauded Pitt’s portrayal, "I think he did great," he said. "I mean, I'm a great fan of Brad Pitt, and that's the reason why when people ask me who'd I like to play me I mention Brad Pitt because he's one of my favorite actors. I think he did a great job."

During Brad’s performance, he broke the Fauci character to thank the doctor and healthcare workers across the nation battling COVID-19. Other nominees included Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"), the late Fred Willard ("Modern Family"), Dev Patel ("Modern Love"), Adam Driver ("SNL") and Eddie Murphy ("SNL").
