Precipitation could be returning to Phoenix and northern Arizona later this week, according to the National Weather Service.

The Phoenix forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain Thursday night and throughout Friday.

The possible wet weather will bring cooler temperatures to town, with highs dropping to 65 degrees on Thursday and 62 degrees on Friday.

Lows for those days will drop to the mid-40s.

Flagstaff is anticipating snow and will likely see showers earlier in the week than Phoenix.
