Easter eggs are not the only things hidden in bushes. Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary is reminding people to be aware of snakes this Easter.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind while hiding those coveted Easter treasures:
- Hide eggs where children will be able to see where they are reaching. Try to avoid hiding eggs in bushes, rocks, behind flower pots or under pool toys.
- Snakes love shady damp areas during the day -- don't we all -- try to keep eggs out of areas like under plants with drip systems
- Hide eggs off the ground like tall flower pots or hanging baskets and on decks or outdoor furniture.
- If you come across a snake, walk away and DO NOT try to move it yourself.
